Agave Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar

So we decided to start our reviews with a new joint here in Healdsburg. Agave Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar is located at 1063 Vine St. Healdsburg Ca 95448.
707-433-2411, open everyday from 10am to 9:30pm and can be found online at http://www.agavefreshmex.com. Taking a read from their website, one can see they are focusing regionally which is always a great way to start.

"Agave offers an array of authentic regional dishes featuring rich, fresh and unique flavors of the region of Oaxaca or South Pacific Mexico.
Our menu features seasonal offerings to take advantage of the freshest ingredients available, and to ensure that there is always something new and exciting for our guests to enjoy.
All sauces, salsas and moles featured on the menu are made fresh in-house daily.
Aside from its emphasis on regional Mexican fare, Agave is proud to offer a limmited selection of fine Tequilas, Margaritas Y Mas....
Vamos a Agave amigos. Vamos. Vamos..."

And now we will get on with the Review!

The staff is very attentive, and as soon as we walked in the door, an quick hello and a gesture to sit where we liked, found us making our way to the patio to enjoy the sunny afternoon. It looks like they recently added the patio, and the local spots right there in the Vine Center all share a little piece of the real estate. It really adds to the location. Wrought Iron tables and chairs umbrellas make the patio very enjoyable. Round of beers orderd, Tim refuses to "Fruit His Beer", I one the other hand think it's the way a great Cervesa. The debate continues...

Quick Service, the owner stopped over to thank us for visiting and chatted us up about the foods and his new place. Didn't catch his name, we should be a little better about that next time!

Took a look at the menu, found the tacos on the bottom of the page, Ordered Al Pastor and steak, Tim got his Al Pastor and chicken. Chorizo, lengua, fish on menu.
We got our tacos quickly and can I just say, glad we ordered only two each! This puppies are HUGE! and for only $2.50 each a great deal, now onto the rating!

Salsa is smooth with some great heat some bites came across with hints of lime and roasted pepper, I do get a little tomato paste here and there.

Tacos: chicken is juicy citrus, salsa witha kick "good"

Steak not a cheap cut of meat, flavorful but not over marinated. Enough heat is in the salsa to keep the common cold away, lip numbing.

Al pastor: wow, pork has a unique flavor...bbq? Pineapple soft warm tortillas 2 per taco

Ratings Tim Brian
Tortilla 4 4
Filling 3.5 3
Topping 3 3
Heat 4 4
"Heat lip numbing"

Tim's Score 14.5/20
Brian's Score 14/20
Total Score 28.5/40

All in all a great experience! We will be going back again! Until next time!

Cheers!
